Stealth mode during paintball? Are you sure?

I know sometimes wearing paintball suits like ghille or even some camouflage will make paintball game become more exciting.

Well, are you allowed to do so?

I would say “check what the field owner has to say”

Why?

Because sometimes is hard for the ref to identify or recognize the splat when you wear camouflage and ghillie suits.

Another thing is some ghillie suit are illegal because its pattern are identical with the real ones used by the military.

So to play on the safe side, please:-

1) Make sure you confirmed with the rules and regulations of the paintball field

2) Do not buy any illegal camouflage and ghillie suits- you do not want to play paintball behind bars.

With the new technology come unforeseen opportunities and issues. It is all about 3 things.

1) The paintball marker circuit board

2) Ramping

3) Rate of fire

Ramping is used to be existed in semi-auto mode. It is to enhance the performance of paintball marker electronically.

The result is a marker can shift to fully automatic mode from a semi. So instead of one ball released per trigger cycle, it will release more than one ball. Easy?

It is very hard to see whether it is a ramping with our human eyes and via special and sophisticated device as well.

A person can switch to a semi-auto while his gun is being tested but in the field is another thing. He switched to fully-automatic.

If you see another player beside you is firing faster than you, this is simply because of the circuit board in his paintball marker.

Sooner or later circuit board will be in every individual’s paintball marker in every game with the technology by Tadao and Advantage PB.

I heard that in this year, major paintball circuits have decided to slower the pace of paintball game. They- the paintball circuits people were hoping by doing this, it will benefit both financially and strategically.

What happen to the paintball industry?

What happen to the sports?

Is the trend of paintball swirl to fast or the industry just cant’ cope with fast pace?

There are a lot of paintball players out there who played more than two times a week. But there are also new paintball players.

My point is, if the new players were so intimidated by the so-called experts, they don’t really survive long in the game.

If they (new players) can’t really enjoy the fullness of paintball, my question is will this stops them from playing regularly. According to Glenn Forster, the answer is absolutely!

Anyway Glenn is a veteran in the paintball world. He is now giving paintball lessons,is a paintball marker producer, and a paintball field owner.

He used to serve as a field captain for Avalanche in 1999-2001.

Another issue is, if a player who bought a standard paintball marker and he used to play full day with an amount which cost him ‘?’. But with the new technology coming out with ‘fast firing rates’ paintball marker, the amount of ‘?’ that he used to spend might be double.

It is so obvious, if my parent sees this, they will surely cut down my paintball game or even worst, permanently stop me from playing anymore.

If this happens to all parents and also to all the new paintball players(who eventually pay for their own game) , I think this will bombard the paintball industry.

If less people playing because of the ‘expensiveness’, a lot of paintball sponsorship will surely have cutbacks, defunct pro teams and the shrinking of participation members is are inevitable.

Are the ‘big guys’ aware of that?

hhhmmm... I wonder. View Full Post......

Keep this in mind.

1) No swearing. Paintball is not buying vegetable in the wet market

2) Do not argue with the ‘ zebras’… I mean the referee :-)

3) Do not abuse your paintball marker. Which means do not fire it in you house, in your toilet, on you neighbor’s dog.

4) Have a goods sportsmanship. When you are being shot, that’s it. Don’t try to give excuse like’ I shot him first…bla bla bla’

Be the Hunter, not the Hunted

What I am trying to tell you is that don’t be easily get targeted by your opponent.

Most paintball newbie is targeted when they shoot from their bunker.

Here is something I would like to share with you guys.

If you are behind your bunker and when you shooting on the right side, if you are a right handed person you will have the advantage shooting from where you are.

But when you are on the left side, you must not use your right hand anymore, try to switch to left hand.

With this you will present less of your shoulder and you body, so that you won’t get shot so easily. View Full Post......
Hi people, before I start writing any blog, I just wanna apologize for not writing anything in the past few weeks as I was kinda stuck in many of my schedules... busy week for me!

Ok.. I am now here and going to write something about someone.

Have you guys ever heard of BRYON BENINI. He is a very top player and very well known. Previously, he was in Black Diamonds and now to his recent retirement from the L.A Ironmen. Way to go! People in Los Angeles!

I tell you, this guy is a TRUE LEGEND in the paintball world!

Bryon Benini grew up in Salinas located 8 miles inland from the coastal town of Monterey in Northern California.

You know when we are kids, we always like to look up to someone as a role-model or EVEN as heroes! Mine was a lot hehe... Marvel character! And oh ya.. I like BATMAN when I was young and Dark Knight is coming out next month, can't wait!

Where was I? Ok.. Bryon Benini's father was a captain in the fire department of Salinas-Monterey.

He was born in San Diego- Where TEAM DYNASTY are from. His parents were separated when he was at the age of 5.

After the divorced between them , he stayed with his Mother. Even both of their parents were remarried, he and his father was still in a very close relationship.

Bryon Benini is a very sporty guy. A Brilliant guy who always scores A's in his school. He mostly spend his time in surfing and he met this guy, who is also an athlete type of guy! He is none other than Shane Pestana- who later became one of the TOP PAINTBALL PLAYER in the Paintball World!

Bryon was into many kind of sports skiing, snowboarding, surfing, baseball. What he love the most is baseball. At that time he was TOP PLAYER in baseball. College scouts are willing to travel across the states to watch him play , can you imagine that?

He was a scorer in his team and a very great offensive player. He made many home runs, but he didn't really pay attention on what is going on around him. He didn't really focus on the people introduced to him or even question's been thrown to him; he will answer them with no enthusiasm. Wanna know why? His heart has already fallen for the big game- PAINTBALL.

During a time very near high school senior end, he injured his hand while testing his arm by throwing the baseball as hard as he can.

After the injury, Bryon saw an opportunity to stop base ball and swift to PAINTBALL WORLD.

When he was asked when and where he discovered paintball, he didn't really remember.

He only remembered that one day he was passing through a shop which sells paintball stuff. He then bought a Splatmaster and some paintballs. He didn't really buy much due to an expensive price at that time.

You know what happen?

He went to his cousins's surfing contest; he reached first. When his cousin arrived and pulls ot of his car, he shoot him with the paintball. Oh my God.. please don't ever do that, luckily his cousin still has his eye balls.

After the contest, and because Bryon has a legitimate age of 18, he bought paintball guns for a bunch of their friends and cousin.

Bryon then started and do some research on paintball. He began to buy some paintball magazines to read and found couple of paintball stores.

He is also a frequent guest at R&R paintball- managed by Opie Thomas and Chuck Hendsh.

Then he was introduced to a paintball tournament and led him to a team called Black Diamond, a team whom Shane Pestana also played.

After high school, he worked in a restaurant, in a print-shop and moving company but he had to fin ways to finance his furher education.

He worked very long hours before he finished his diploma and was enlisted for classes at Butte College studying general education , graphics and marketing,

After that he was transfered to Chico state. He stayed in a campus which is very near to a lot of paintball fields. He spent most of his time practicing there.

After one year with the Black Diamonds, he was invited to play for Ironmen.

He met Dave "Youngblood" Dehan and Darryl Trent there. They don't really give good first impression to Bryon because Bryon had to see them chasing each other without any clothes on... haha

Bryon was a very aggressive. He would to try find excitement outside of the safety of his bunker. He was a very young and fast player at that time. He was considered an aggressive player in a format where the relative thickness of the woods sometimes meant that one could play for a couple of minutes before spotting the positions.

He learn a lot of skills and gain a lot of experience by watching his team mate Dave Youngblood running and shooting and running from bunker to bunker.

He then tried to apply it in Hyperball format which was newly introduced in Europe. Dave's moves taught him a lot, and from there he developed his own hew style of playing.

He needed to support himself financially of course; so he became a snowboard instructor. He spend much of his winter at Boreal Ski Resort.

It is really hard for him to be a full time instructor when he is a full time student back then.

Caught up with all the work at the resort cause him to be absent many times in school, Bryon never really had the time to study and was suspended because he took too many days off . In the end he never had a chance to become a graduate.

The story never end there.

Bryon was doing the right thing at the right; paintball industry was just starting to develop at that time.

He was appointed as a manager of a print shop, but his heart was not really there. He wanted to find something which related to paintball. He quit as the manager at that print shop.

Paintball industry was very new and gradually becoming famous; so at that time, the industry was not that competative. It is still in the ' blue ocean' status. Blue ocean means not many supply but the the demand is very strong (just in case you are confused with what I am saying).

People back then don' steal ideas, they share them out for improvement and for review.

A lot of tournaments was created giving people opportunities to show their skill on the field.

Paintball back then became a life-style for every paintball players. They are willing to travel from end to the other end to party with different paintball players from other state.

Bryon was attracted to that kind of life-style, a life style which has no rivalry outside the field but only beer time and enjoyment.

Bryon Benini's first job in paintball industry was with OTP.

When dave Dehan quits from JT , he opens his little company called DYE - sounds familiar to you ?:) A company speacialize in aftermarket barrels.

He then asked Bryon to help him to develop the company together. Bryon learn how to build barrels and take and ship orders.

With work loads increased , Bryon found himself hard to cope with his job and scheduled paintball practice. So he asked to transfered and now he is working in a new-product development department.

Later when business increase dramatically, he withdraw himself from manual work. DYE hired a lot of employees to sustained the business. Bryon then became the General manager in that company.

He travelled to China, Taiwan to visit factories and develop new partnerships and established distribution ware houses.

Some time later, He was figuring on how he is going to promote paintball and make it big. His enthusiasm on paintball pushed him to a next level.

During a skiing trip to Colorado gave him and Patricl Spohrer inspiration to spend 150 hours filming all aspects of the paintball life.

They then came out a video called PUSH. A true paintball life story of practices, friendships, games and rivalries throughout the 199 season.

Bryon Benini's fear of unsuccessful turned out to become a very successful paintball video and it was this video-Push which inspire all the media production of paintball.

Untill now Push is still considered a classic to us all.

After 2006 World Cup, Bryon Benini retired as a professional paintball player.

Byon didn't want to repeat his past mistaking by neglecting his first wife due to costant practice and now he just wanted to start build a family, a house called home with his son Tyler and his fiancee Marieta.

Although Ironmen was begging him to come back, but he only played once in a while even though with the fire of paintball still burning inside of him.

This is the life of our PAINTBALL LEGEND Bryon Benini! View Full Post......
