I realized a lot of people really want to take the role of Mark Walhberg in the movie Shooter. Well I am not sure does paintball guns have that kind of technologies to push the paintball that far but as far as I know sniper is more to shooting accuracy.

Of course you don't expect your paintball can land in 200 yards away from you and you are still be able to get a clear head shot right:)If even though you can buy the best barrels, bolts, tanks, triggers with whole of your fortune but in reality, paintballs are not accurate projectiles.

I prefer calling the so-called 'PAINTBALL SNIPERS' to a better address - professionals shooter. But it's ok for me if you want to call it which ever names you likely preferred.

So how can you improve your accuracy and aiming when you want to 'snipe' someone.(I hope is not the neighbors you hated)

3 things you have to consider:

1) Camo
2) Your paintball marker
3) Try to improve your shooting skill

You must choose a camo that fits your terrain.

- Real-tree good in a dessert setting
- Tigers Stripe will not let your opponent spot you so easily.
- Avantage will be able to deceive your opponent thinking it was the back ground.
- same goes to TreeBark
- Woodland and Dots is much more complex.

Ok, I think that is enough info for the CAMO.

Then you have to get a good Paintball Marker or you can modify your Barrel. 14" Barrel is good enough- at least for me. You can also get a HPA tank.

Lastly, you must do practice. It is a must!

Practicing by shooting some paints in your backyard does not really help much. You have to do intensive range shooting or practice in a real game.

You must always remember how your body works for you. You need to steady your posture before you shoot. This is because if you miss your opponent, the whole world knows where you are and they will like firing all the paintballs they have on you, get what i mean.

When you try to aim try not to hold the marker in your hands. Try to look for something to support your marker so you would have more steady grip on your marker.

Do not lean with one knee and the other foot on the ground. This will cause you in to trouble.

Try not to stand and snipe( put this in your last option)

What if you missed and your opponents starts firing at you. Do not fret.

This is what you can do:

1) Stay still because if you are firing one paintballs at a time they won't spot you so easily.

2) Dive for cover

3) Let them eat your paintball as much as you can ... haha

Remember to practice a lot. Just try to enjoy your game as much as possible and always have a good sportsmanship:)

Paintball ‘amour’

In every sport you need a proper gear, outfit, attire and stuff. For example, when you cook, you need to wear an apron also right? When you play American Football you need to wear shoulder guards and stuff isn’t it? Do not tell me you wear a singlet and tights when you play football. Furthermore, this is paintball! It’s our game. We need proper, safety gears, so that we can perform effectively and harms free.

1) The most important gear you need in paintball is your sun glasses ( joking ) The most important thing you need is a paintball mask. You do not want the paintball to replace your eye ball right?

2) Every one has a good friend somewhere. So when you play paintball, the paintball marker is your good friend. Sleep with it, play with it, shower together with it (Laugh) you will know what I am saying when you really played on field. This "guy" will make you win!

3) Proper clothing! A ballerina do not wear bikini for a ballet dance. It is utmost important that you wear properly while you play paintball. Do not dress up like a newbie even though you are one.

Proper clothing means the clothes should be heavy duty, dark in color so that you can “camouflage”. Do not wear shorts! Especially for girls. My girl friend did that ones, it gave her an instant tattoo on the thigh. Please wear shoes for running or heavy-duty boots for alternative.

4) I also suggest squeegees. It is for players who need to wipe out their paint on their paintball mask in the field. For alternative, you can also use cotton rags.

5) First aid kit. This one I do not have to mention in detail.

6) Tools like screwdrivers, tweezers, pliers and spare batteries for specific paintball markers. This kind of tool that you may consider bringing if you planned your private paintball game.

This piece of advice I mentioned above are a ‘must’. Some fields do not allow players to play if you do not wear proper attire. You must always abide in the rules implemented by any field owners. I do not like to hear people got injured by playing paintball because I know all these can be avoided if you stick by the rules.

Paintball gun is also known as paintball maker. They use the word ‘marker’ meaning is obviously to mark.

In the history markers are used in forestry to mark trees. After some thought of what the marker can do and some modification, they created a game called paintball.

The main body is called the bolt. It allows air to to go through it and pushes the paintball out.

Bolt includes some mechanism. First of all it pumps. Secondly, a system which will automatically re-cocks the marker.

What re-cocking mean , to place another paintball in the chamber.

Chamber is a place which the paintball is waiting for an air rush when it fires. Then a ball détente is a mechanism to hold the ball so that the ball will be in place and won’t roll out.

It also make sure that only one ball to enter ro the chamber.

Paintball will fire out from the barrel. Barrel is a long tube that will make the paintball to shoot out accurately on the target.

There are many kinds of barrel. Aluminum or stainless steel ones are heavier. I got people tell me that brass barrel are the best because less friction on the paintball.

Have you ever seen barrels with drilled holes; this is to help air get out of the paintball’s way, but very difficult to clean.

The hopper or loader is a plastic container that holds your paintball. It’s on top on the bolt so that the ball from the hopper will fall into the chamber by gravity,

I know an e-loader by NXe Journey series loader. Check it out !

Some hopper can hold up to 300 paintballs. It depends on how big is your hopper is. Normally is can hold at least 50.The air tank is the man. Some people uses CO2 and some uses normal compressed air or Nitrogen.

Does is mean a longer barrel, the better the accuracy?

Yes and no.

When it comes to accuracy, you need to consider two factors.

1) The size of your paintball

2) The type and length of your barrel.

If your paintball is bigger than your barrel, it burst inside before it can even see the world!

So make sure that your paintball is:-

  • suitable for your barrel size
  • Test it by putting a paintball inside your barrel whether it can roll out smoothly.

A longer barrel can increase the distance of the shot. For instance, if we compare a 10 inch and a 16 inch with the same chronograph of 290 fps, 16 inch will travel 6 inches more than a 10 inch barrel.

A lot of paintball players are using 12inch to 16 inch barrel. To improve your paintball marker performance and to shoot more accurately, I recommended 12” to 14” length barrels.

I hope you can get something from this. Happy playinimprove on paintball shooting, paintball marker modificg paintball!

Barrels are typically constructed of brass, stainless steel and last but not least aluminium.

Brass Barrels

For brass metal you need to maintain and polish from time to time. It is very soft, very heavy.

Quality and the performance of brass barrel is good because of its less friction. Paintballs will not burst easily inside the barrel.

The only thing about brass metal is, it is more damage prone because it is soft and high maintenance.

Stainless steel barrels

This is also the less friction barrel after brass barrel. What I can say about stainless steel barrels, they are durable. If you are a heavy duty guy, stainless steel barrel is the man.

It is harder to manufacture stainless steel marker, so the price for this is slightly more expensive.

Not much of maintenance is required for stainless steel and of course I mentioned just now, it is low friction.

Aluminium Barrels

OK, here is the thing about the aluminium. If your looking for budget barrel, this are the most cheapest of its material.

Not much of maintenance is required also. It is light-weighted fellow. Durable!

Bare in mind that aluminium barrel is more friction than the rest.

Two piece Barrels

This hybrid is a combination of stainless steel base and ported aluminium tip. When the paintball is pushed out from the chamber, it meets with the stainless steel base first, that gives a low friction to the paintball when fired out from the aluminium tip.

It provides two performances but with lesser weight. Cool huh?

With the new technology come unforeseen opportunities and issues. It is all about 3 things.

1) The paintball marker circuit board

2) Ramping

3) Rate of fire

Ramping is used to be existed in semi-auto mode. It is to enhance the performance of paintball marker electronically.

The result is a marker can shift to fully automatic mode from a semi. So instead of one ball released per trigger cycle, it will release more than one ball. Easy?

It is very hard to see whether it is a ramping with our human eyes and via special and sophisticated device as well.

A person can switch to a semi-auto while his gun is being tested but in the field is another thing. He switched to fully-automatic.

If you see another player beside you is firing faster than you, this is simply because of the circuit board in his paintball marker.

Sooner or later circuit board will be in every individual’s paintball marker in every game with the technology by Tadao and Advantage PB.
