Barrels are typically constructed of brass, stainless steel and last but not least aluminium.

Brass Barrels

For brass metal you need to maintain and polish from time to time. It is very soft, very heavy.

Quality and the performance of brass barrel is good because of its less friction. Paintballs will not burst easily inside the barrel.

The only thing about brass metal is, it is more damage prone because it is soft and high maintenance.

Stainless steel barrels

This is also the less friction barrel after brass barrel. What I can say about stainless steel barrels, they are durable. If you are a heavy duty guy, stainless steel barrel is the man.

It is harder to manufacture stainless steel marker, so the price for this is slightly more expensive.

Not much of maintenance is required for stainless steel and of course I mentioned just now, it is low friction.

Aluminium Barrels

OK, here is the thing about the aluminium. If your looking for budget barrel, this are the most cheapest of its material.

Not much of maintenance is required also. It is light-weighted fellow. Durable!

Bare in mind that aluminium barrel is more friction than the rest.

Two piece Barrels

This hybrid is a combination of stainless steel base and ported aluminium tip. When the paintball is pushed out from the chamber, it meets with the stainless steel base first, that gives a low friction to the paintball when fired out from the aluminium tip.

It provides two performances but with lesser weight. Cool huh?
